School Age Childcare
Licensed
childcare is currently offered at seven different locations. This service
provides working families with a safe place and quality program for their
children. These programs are fee-for-service with government subsidies
available for those who qualify.

Homework Haven
Homework Haven is a program offered at Stride Community
School for children, grades 4 to 7, who experience barriers to academic
success. The program is funded in part by the Royal Bank of Canada and the
BC Gaming Commission, and is offered to children after school, Mondays and
Thursdays from 3-5pm.
Friendship Club
A free after-school social club offered at Edmonds
Community School for children in grades 4 to 7, who are new to the community
or the school. The program is offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays
from 3-5pm. Activities include sports, crafts, cooking and out trips.
Program is funded by the United Way.
Kids Out Of The
Rain
The "Kids Out Of The Rain" Program is for students in
grade 4 to 7 at Maywood Community School. The timing is Tuesdays,
Wednesdays, and Fridays from 3-5pm. The program includes recreational
activities for children through which they will be encouraged to interact
with other students in the school by the programs provided by the staff.
Some of the activities include playing in the gym, doing crafts, or playing
games. There is also time spent completing homework assignments and
getting tutor support.
