History
South Burnaby Neighbourhood House is a charitable non profit organization incorporated in 1996 by local residents who saw a need and wanted to make a difference in their community. With the establishment of a small storefront on Jubilee Ave., Burnaby’s first Neighbourhood House quickly began to develop and grow.
The Neighbourhood House offers a variety of programs and services from its small storefront site located at 4845 Imperial Street. Programs are also offered out of 6 additional satellite sites throughout Burnaby. Although the "House" tripled in size in 2004 allowing for more opportunities to develop programs, SBNH has quickly outgrown its space and now, in 2008 there are plans for a larger permanent facility to call home.
