Student Training
On the Job training experience for students. A variety of opportunities are available for students who want to gain work experience. This includes placements for student who are attending college and university, as well as general volunteer opportunities. During the summer, we provide employment for approximately 15 to 20 secondary and post-secondary students in our Day Camp program. We are committed to providing opportunities for youth and adults to expand their skills and work experiences.

Youth Leadership

VanCity funding continues to support the ongoing development of a Youth Leadership program. Leadership is a program for high school students which gives participants an opportunity to learn leadership skills, such as problem solving, group dynamics, and risk management, and then puts these new skills into practice by having individuals volunteer in programs with children and community projects. There are currently three levels of Leadership Training offered at our Neighbourhood House: Foundations of Leadership for grades 7 to 9, Leadership Level 1 for grades 10 to 12 and Leadership Level 2 for graduates of Level 1.
